SMOKE-FREE AIR
Helping Hoosiers Quit Tobacco

Make a decision that Hamilton County workers and residents have the right to breathe clean air!

There are nearly 300,000 people that live, work, and play in Hamilton County, and yet Hamilton County is one of the largest counties without a comprehensive smoke-free ordinance!
• Tobacco smoke includes at least 69 cancer-causing chemicals.
• Secondhand smoke kills 1,426 Hoosiers and more than 41,000 Americans each year.
• Exposure to secondhand smoke can increase a non-smoker’s risk of heart disease or lung cancer by over 30%.
• With every breath in a workplace that allows smoking, workers are exposed to 7,000 chemicals that cause heart disease, lung cancer, and other serious illnesses.
